He-Man.org's very own Pixel Dan (pictured there in the thumbnail with Emiliano Santalucia) is celebrating the holiday season the only way he knows how: by reviewing toys! You can count down to Christmas along with Dan with the Toy Review Advent Calendar!

Pixel Dan has created this cool interactive "Advent Calendar" on YouTube! Every day, you can click on a date to see a brand new toy video from Pixel Dan! A total of 25 toy videos will be posted!

While all of the toy reviews won't be He-Man related, Dan is sure to have at least a few MOTU related videos this month! But there's also going to be all kinds of other great videos, so definitely be sure to watch them all!

Welcome, my friends, to PIXEL-DAN.COM!

It’s my own little piece of the internet. A place I can call my own. And a place where you are more than welcome to visit any time! Come on in, have a drink, and watch a review!

My goal with this site was to put together a one-stop shop to find my latest video reviews and share my love and passion for collecting toys with the world! I’ve already posted a lot of my back catalog, so you should be able to easily find any of my Masters of the Universe Classics reviews, episodes of From Pixels to Plastic, reviews on ThunderCats, Voltron, Kotobukiya, and much more!

Plus, all of my latest reviews and videos will be posted here going forward! I’ve done my best to make it easy to locate exactly what you’re looking for. So check the categories or “Featured Videos” sections to the right, or use the handy “Search” function! And if you’d like to see a full listing of every review I have available on this site, check out the Toy Review Index up top!

It’s also very easy to share anything on this site via Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc! I highly encourage you to do so! Help spread the word!

Aside from my toy reviews, I’ll also be using this space to post my thoughts on some of the latest news and info coming from the world of toys and collecting!

Mystic Hammer Fan Project by Joe Amaro finished!

Following up on my recent post about this incredibly cool custom hammer by friend Joe Amaro, Joe has updated his blog with these images of the final product!

From Joe:

“The Mystic Hammer sculpt is now finished! Here are some pictures of the hammer with various figures to give you an idea of scale. The size is 5.5″ tall by 4″ wide. It’s now off to get casted and then they will be ready for sale. I do not have a pre-order section. I will post a link here and on Twitter to the sale page when they are ready.”

Price increase for MOTUC in 2013: What’s your limit?

The hot topic in the world of He-Man right now is the recent post by Scott “Toyguru” Neitlich stating that there will be a “dramatic” price increase on the 2013 Masters of the Universe Classics line.

Fans are nervous about this bit of news, worrying that we may see prices as high as $30 and $40 per figure. Personally, I feel that Scott using the word “dramatic” was a poor choice here. I don’t imagine the prices will honestly be any higher than $22-$25 per figure.

Keep in mind that the price hike is not by any means new information. We’ve known this since around the beginning of the year, and even discussed it with Scott on an episode of the Roast Gooble Dinner podcast.

I don’t like the high prices of toys either. In fact, I’ve often commented on how I hate how much toys cost these days. But I absolutely understand that as the years go by, the cost of living goes up, the cost of raw materials goes up, and the cost of products we purchase go up. We’ve honestly been lucky the prices have stayed the same since 2008 until now.

I understand there are quality control circumstances with this line that there is no excuse for. But in the grand scheme of things, I understand the price increase. And as long as it stays at the $22-$25 price point, I’m still good to buy.

So my question to all of you is this: what’s your limit? We all collect for different reasons. For me, MOTU is my first love when it comes to toys, and I would drop everything else I collect before I drop MOTU. But that’s not the same for everyone. So, at what point do you give up on buying MOTUC? What price is “too high?” Discuss!

Bei der letzten SDCC Machten Toyguru und Pixel Dan eine Wette.
Pixel Dan hält nun sein Versprechen und verkleidet sich als Mosquitor, da bin ich gespannt ob Toyguru seines auch hält und als The Mighty Spector auftaucht ^^.

MattyCollector Subscriptions are a GO! And Geldor is the MOTUC Fans Choice Winner!

It’s official! DC Club Inifnite Earths and MOTU  Club Eternia met their goals for subscriptions and are going forward for 2013!

It appears DC squeaked by, which I was not at all expecting. But I’m very happy for the DC collectors out thee! MOTU Classics on the other hand ended up going above and beyond, going 35% beyond what was needed! Scott seems to imply that this boost bodes well for going forward in 2014 as well.

It was also announced that the winner of the Fan Poll for MOTU Classics was Geldor. Coming in second right behind him was Illumina. While I voted for Illumina, I’m happy with Geldor. It’s cool to get some mini comic representation in the line. Plus, I had a feeling he’d be the winner. He’s a huge fan favorite among the German fan base, and those German MOTU fans know how to get the job done!  MattyCollector Subscriptions are a GO! And Geldor is the MOTUC Fans Choice Winner!

I should add that it was very nice of Scott to give me a shout out in this video!

So, we’re getting at least another year of both DCUC and MOTUC! Pretty exciting stuff for those of us who were hoping for more toys.
